After reading a book called “In Pursuit of Orphan Excellency” and a lot of prayer, we realized the importance for orphans in Africa to remain in their community. African culture values what tribe you come from and your community. In order to survive your community and tribe will come alongside you at any time to help. The home care program was developed to educate a care taker to take care of an orphan in the community. This would allow the child to remain in contact with their immediate family and learn to work within their tribe.
Weekly home care visits are made by C.A.R.E. Africa staff. Education is provided on hygiene, cleanliness, healthcare and more. Depending on the caretakers health and education we also will assist with business development and finances.
