CARE Africa is determined to make sure every child enrolled in our program knows about the love of Jesus. We show them this love through our actions and then also through Discipleship. We have two means of discipleship. Our AWANA program and our Friday Discipleship class.
AWANA
Mondays at our C.A.R.E. center we open up to the community for AWANA (Approved Workmen are not Ashamed 2 Timothy 2:15. This program is compulsory for our CARE kids and open to the Egbe community kids. We normally host about 200 children.
Every AWANA starts out with worship and song as a group and then we break out into teams for sport. Once sport is completed we take the older children to our hall and the smaller children to the outside area. The older children receive a handout with a story, memory verse, questions and answers and a game. They receive a lesson and then get to answer questions and receive prizes. The younger children also receive a handout and crayon to color while they receive their lesson.
The children love the program and we truly believe seeds are getting planted in these children hearts for Jesus.
Friday Discipleship
Friday Discipleship is just for our older children JS1-SS3 and it is compusory. Every Friday they come to the center after school. Our child mentors break them up in groups and have a lesson for them and a snack. It is time that they get to talk about their lives and ask questions about God and their walk with the Lord. We feel like this time is really enriching our children’s walk with the Lord.
